It’s about to be a rough time for Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Much of the footage we’ve seen of Peter Quill has him struggling to rebound from losing the love of his life, Gamora, and dealing with the existence of her variant, who is the same but…not. Is the only reason she’s on the team so Quill can try to get her to fall in love with him? Kinda seems like it.
In the first of two clips from the film, we see Quill explaining to The Suicide Squad breakout Daniela Melchior, who appears to be playing a pink-skinned Kree working for the High Evolutionary, telling a sob story about his love life. This scene has been shown a lot in trailers, but this clip adds a bit more context. Clearly, they are going to rescue Rocket or another member of the team.
The second clip finds Quill confessing his love for the Gamora variant, in hopes that she will give him a chance to win her heart. But she ain’t having it, and Quill might want to watch out. She isn’t known as the “Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy” for nothing.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in theaters on May 5th.
