‘Fool’s Paradise’ Trailer: Charlie Day’s Star-Studded Hollywood Comedy Hits Theaters In May

Fresh off of voicing Luigi in the hit Super Mario Bros Movie, what better time than now for the trailer for Charlie Day’s directorial debut? Fool’s Paradise finds the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia funnyman directing and starring with an all-star cast in a Hollywood comedy of errors.

Day, who also wrote the screenplay, is joined by Ken Jeong, Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, Common, Jason Sudeikis, Eddie Falco, John Malkovich, Jillian Bell, Alanna Ubach, Travis Fimmel, Dean Norris, Katherine McNamara, Glenn Howerton, Jimmi Simpson, Jason Bateman, and the late Ray Liotta.

Here’s the official synopsis: A satirical comedy about a down-on-his-luck publicist (Jeong) who discovers a recently released mental health patient (Day) who looks just like a misbehaving movie star. The publicist subs him into a film, creating a new star. But fame and fortune are not all they are cracked up to be.

You can see that Day is just having a good time with this one, but who knows? Perhaps it will lead to a bigger, more serious filmmaking career?

Fool’s Paradise opens in theaters on May 12th.
