‘Citadel’ Trailer: Richard Madden And Priyanka Chopra Jonas Star In The Russo Bros.’ Ambitious Prime Video Spy Series

Prime Video has established itself as the place-to-be for the best in covert action franchises, from Hanna to Jack Ryan to Without Remorse. And now they might have another hit on their hands with Citadel, an ambitious global spy series from Avengers bigshots Joe and Anthony Russo.

As seen in the trailer, Citadel stars Game of Thrones and Eternals‘ Richard Madden, along with international superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas, so expect a lot of eyes to be on this one. They play star-crossed spies who have regained their memories and begin seeking out the truth behind the fall of their former employer, Citadel.

The Russos don’t do anything small, as we’ve seen with some of their gigantic post-Marvel projects such as The Gray Man. In the case of Citadel, the hope is to have tie-in spinoffs representing all of the regions of the world. That’s pretty crazy, but the Russos know a thing or two about building a cinematic universe.

Also in the cast are Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, and Roland Møller.

Citadel hits Prime Video hits Prime Video for six episodes beginning April 28th.

“Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.”
