Robert Pattinson Eyes New Sci-Fi Film From ‘Parasite’ Director Bong Joon Ho

Bong Joon Ho has attached his name to a few projects since his Best Picture-winning film Parasite. But it seems that he has now found a proper followup, a sci-fi movie based on the upcoming novel Mickey7. But the big news to come out of this is that Robert Pattinson is in talks to star in it.

Deadline reports Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to star in the sci-fi film that Joon Ho will write and direct, based on the book by Edward Ashton. The story is set in the future when clones are deployed to perform dangerous tasks. A clone known as Mickey7 is sent on just such a mission, but manages to return home, only to find he’s been replaced by Mickey8. Now Mickey7 must keep his identity secret while saving the space colony that moved on from him.

Pretty cool. We’ve seen Joon Ho adapt sci-fi before, Snowpiercer the most notable case, and he’s likely to add some of his own ideas and concepts. This will be the next project for him and for Pattinson, the latter after he finishes up on The Batman.
