New ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ CCXP Teaser Goes Big On Emotion

The CCXP in Brazil has become an event of Comic-Con-level reveals and announcements, especially for superhero movies looking to make a big impression. That’s why Warner Bros chose this year’s virtual Con to debut a new 60-second teaser for Wonder Woman 1984, revealing a more grounded, hopeful tone to coincide with the dark times the world is currently facing.

Also apparent in this new footage? A sense of being part of something bigger, a shared community, which can definitely be said of the film as a whole. Warner Bros. recently made the decision to release Wonder Woman 1984, and all of its upcoming slate, in theaters and HBO Max on the same day, breaking new ground for the entire film industry.

Meanwhile, we also get never-before-seen footage of Gal Gadot in the Patty Jenkins-directed sequel, as she takes on Kristen Wiig as Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord. There’s also the mystery of the return of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor, who finds himself a fish-out-of-water in the 1980s the way Diana was out-of-place during WWI.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day.
