Kevin Spacey Displays Actual Compassion In His Third Annual Bizarre Holiday Video

“What would Christmas Eve be without a message from me?”, says Kevin Spacey in his Frank Underwood persona. Well, for three years in a row now we’ve been unable to find out as the disgraced actor has taken this time to deliver bizarre…I don’t even know what to call these things anymore. They aren’t a plea for forgiveness. They aren’t quite as defensive as in the beginning. And this one, coming off of a devastating pandemic year, actually has a touch of compassion to it.

The Youtube vid is titled 1-800-XMAS, and finds Spacey reflecting on the hardships others have faced this year and how they might be need of emotional support this holiday season…

“If you’re standing in a place that you can no longer remain standing, if you’re suffering, if you need help, if you feel guilt or shame, if you’re struggling with your identity, if your back’s up against the wall, or if you feel that there’s no path for you, whatever your situation, I promise you there is a path. At this time during this holiday and beyond, even if you don’t feel it, there are people out there that understand and can help, because you are not alone.”

Spacey was caught up in a #MeToo scandal a few years ago with numerous people, including some well-known actors, coming out to say he sexual assaulted them. It cost Spacey his gig on Netflix’s House of Cards, with producers going so far as to kill off Frank Underwood. The whole coming back as Frank thing remains the weirdest part of this to me. It’s like he can’t let the role go, even though Frank was an evil bastard who abused and murdered people in displays of power. Whatever this is Spacey is doing would feel more genuine if he’d just be himself.
