Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi To Lead Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ Adaptation

Margot Robbie and Emerald Fennell have been tied at the hip for a few years now. Robbie produced Fennell’s first two films, Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, both controversial in their own way. And now for Fennell’s third film, an adaptation of Wuthering Heights, Robbie has decided to step in front of the camera.

Variety reports that Robbie will star in Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, based on the Emily Brontë classic. While she will take on the role of Catherine Earnshaw, it will be red-hot Saltburn and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff.

The story follows two mid-19th century English families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and their turbulent relationships with Heathcliff, the Earnshaws’ foster son. It’s the passionate but doomed love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw that drives the story.

Robbie has slowed down since scoring a huge hit with Barbie, a film she both starred in and produced. Fennell had a small role in that film, as well, playing Midge.

Elordi has been everywhere lately, appearing as Elvis Presley in Priscilla, and his starring role in HBO’s Euphoria. He’ll be seen soon in Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada, along with Justin Kurzel’s The Narrow Road to the Deep North, and is currently shooting Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein.

We probably won’t see Wuthering Heights until 2026 as Fennell plans for production to begin in 2025.
