Jeremy Allen White Circling Wolverine Role In Marvel’s ‘X-Men’ Reboot?

Remember when Pete Myers had to replace Michael Jordan on the Chicago Bulls? He had impossibly big shoes to fill, and he couldn’t do it. That’s sort of what awaits anyone who tries to replace Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine. According to Jeff Sneider, that might be The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, who has reportedly met with Marvel Studios for the role in its upcoming X-Men reboot.

White has reportedly met with Marvel about a small role as Wolverine in X-Men. The appearance would be the kickoff to a much larger MCU presence down the line. Personally, I’d keep Wolvie running solo and away from the team, only joining them for cameos and major crossover events.

It’s kind of a shitty stretch for White on the big screen right now. He’s coming off of two intended awards season contenders that flopped hard: The Social Reckoning and Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere. He also voiced Rotta the Hutt in The Mandalorian & Grogu, and that didn’t do well, either.

That said, White is still a very good actor and highly in demand. He could use a franchise gig like X-Men, that’s for sure. Fans will destroy him for not being Jackman, but hey, there’s really nothing anyone can do about that. Jackman has played Logan ten times since 2000, including the massive hit Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.

X-Men opens May 5th 2028, directed by Jake Schreier and starring Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, Asa Germann as Angel, Peter Claffey as Beast, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. Ben Wang is reportedly up for the role of Iceman.
