Lily Collins To Play Audrey Hepburn In Film About Making Of ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’

A few years ago, Luca Guadagnino was planning a biopic on Hollywood icon, Audrey Hepburn, with Rooney Mara set to star. That film has since been left on the shelf, but if you recall, there were quite a lot of Lily Collins fans out there who were upset that she wasn’t cast in the role. Well, it took a while, but they are getting their wish in a totally different Hepburn movie.

Emily in Paris’ Lily Collins will play Audrey Hepburn in a film based on the making of the 1961 classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Alena Smith (Dickinson) is set to adapt Sam Wasson’s best-selling book Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman. There are some colorful characters in the book that will presumably need to be cast, such as Truman Capote, Edith Head, director Blake Edwards, and Mickey Rooney who played the controversial ethnic stereotype I.Y. Yunioshi.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s centered on naive socialite Holly Golightly, and the role helped turn Hepburn into a cultural and fashion icon. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning two. Hepburn was nominated for Best Actress.

No director is attached, but that will probably change pretty quickly. On the big screen, Collins was last seen in Ti West’s horror MaXXXine in 2024.
