The hook of Chris Nash’s In a Violent Nature was slasher gore with arthouse style. The film, seen from the perspective of the lumbering killer, was a critical and box office success for IFC and Shudder. I was in the room at Comic-Con a couple of years ago when producer Peter Kuplowsky confirmed that a sequel was in the works, and now the first teaser for it is here courtesy of IGN Fan Fest. I can’t wait!
Ry Barrett is back as Johnny, the mute, undead serial killer who slaughtered people at his own deliberate pace. The action moves from the wilderness of the first movie to a summer camp where a misfit camper, her counselor sister, and the sister’s friends became Johnny’s next targets.
Nash moves to a screenwriter role for the sequel, with Nathaniel Wilson as director. Joining Barrett in the cast are Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald McLean Jr., and Evan Marsh.
In a Violent Nature 2 opens in 2026.
