Yesterday was Galentine’s Day. Never heard of it? Well, it’s a day celebrating female friendships and sisterly bonds. And it was a perfect day for the new trailer for Forbidden Fruits, IFC and Shudder’s witchy horror starring Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union.
Co-Written and directed by Meredith Alloway, Forbidden Fruits also boasts Jennifer’s Body and Lisa Frankenstein’s Diablo Cody as a producer. Lily Houghton co-wrote the screenplay based on her own stageplay.
Here’s the synopsis: Free Eden employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig, but when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.
Forbidden Fruits opens on March 27th.
