Steven Spielberg’s upcoming summer blockbuster, a UFO movie that we now know is titled Disclosure Day, has been kept under a shroud of secrecy since being announced. That mystery is now being lifted, at least somewhat, by the new teaser released by Universal Pictures and Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.
Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson star in Disclosure Day. Spielberg conjured up the UFO story, which was then scripted by Jurassic Park writer David Koepp.
Here’s the synopsis: If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to…Disclosure Day.
Spielberg’s history with sci-fi, particularly about the arrival of extraterrestrials, goes way back with such films as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., and War of the Worlds. This latest effort bears a striking resemblance to Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival, which is not a bad thing at all.
Disclosure Day hits theaters on June 12th.
