’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ Trailer: The Rage Virus Saga Continues In January

Next month, Nia DaCosta’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple returns us to the infected world created by Danny Boyle in 28 Days Later, and revisited in 28 Years Later. The sequel shifts its focus to Alfie Williams’ character, Spike, as he ventures out into the Rage Virus-infected U.K. all alone. As we saw at the conclusion of the previous film, he’ll encounter the villainous cult leader Sir Jimmy Crystal, played by Sinners actor Jack O’Connell, and also the eccentric Dr. Ian Kelson, played once again by Ralph Fiennes.

Erin Kellyman, Chi Lewis-Parry, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Laird, and Cillian Murphy round out the cast. Alex Garland once again penned the screenplay, with Danny Boyle producing.

SYNOPSIS: In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple hits theaters January 16th 2026 from Sony Pictures.
