‘The Adventures Of Cliff Booth’: Netflix Reportedly Eying A Summer 2026 Release, Possible Theatrical Run

The unlikely team-up of director David Fincher, screenwriter Quentin Tarantino, and star Brad Pitt, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is one of the biggest films on the horizon. Just how far into the horizon is it, though? And will Netflix give it a lengthy theatrical release? We may be starting to get answers to both of those questions.

In a recent Variety report, Netflix is eyeing a summer 2026 release for The Adventures of Cliff Booth. A theatrical release, likely between 1-3 weeks in length, is also being considered, but “theatrical plans won’t be finalized until closer to either film’s release” according to the report. That would be typical Netflix, which generally releases its biggest movies in theaters for two weeks ahead of a streaming debut.

Such was the case for Fincher’s last movie for Netflix, The Killer, and other recent films such as Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite, Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein, and Edward Berger’s Ballad of a Small Player.

You’d think Netflix would be jumping a the chance to put this in theaters, considering the $377M box office of its predecessor, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Maybe that’s the choice they’ll make, but something tells me they will wait and see the critical reaction if it plays a festival or two.
