What does it mean to find your soulmate? The term itself suggests that your bond goes beyond life and death, but into eternity. And that’s what Elizabeth Olsen has to ponder in the fantasy rom-com, Eternity. Is her soulmate Miles Teller or Callum Turner, and which one will she spend the rest of her afterlife with?
Directed by David Freyne, Eternity has a stellar cast from top to bottom. Olsen is joined by Teller and Turner as the two men in her life, one of whom she must choose to spend eternity with. Also in the cast are Da’Vine Joy Randolph, John Early, and Olga Merediz.
SYNOPSIS: In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) and her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.
Eternity premiered last month at TIFF, and I admit to skipping out on it when I had the chance to see it. My bad! Hopefully, I can catch up with it this week at the Middleburg Film Festival. You can check it out there, too.
A24 will release Eternity into theaters on November 26th.
