‘The RIP’ Trailer: Joe Carnahan’s Miami Crime Film Stars Ben Affleck And Matt Damon

Joe Carnahan doesn’t make the big, studio blockbusters like The A-Team anymore, and hasn’t for a long time. But he still attracts A-list stars for crackin’ good crime movies. That said, it’s been a while since there’s been good reason to be excited for a Carnahan movie. His last film, the Omar Sy/Kerry Washington actioner Shadow Force, was a dud. But Carnahan’s latest, The RIP, looks excellent, and it stars forever buds Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer and images from The RIP. Written and directed by Carnahan, the film involves a group of Miami cops who discover a stash of millions in cash, and all of the turmoil that follows in its wake.

Joining Affleck and Damon is one Hell of a cast that includes Sasha Calle, Steven Yeun, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Teyana Taylor, Nestor Carbonell, Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler, and Lina Esco.

SYNOPSIS: Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.

The RIP hits Netflix on January 16th 2026.
