Blumhouse has more than one successful horror franchise under its belt. As The Conjuring comes to a close on a box office high, the sixth Insidious film is now gearing up for a summer 2026 release. And today we’re learning who will be headlining the next chapter from writer/director Jacob Chase.
Deadline reports Lin Shaye will return for Insidious 6, joined by The Haunting of Bly Manor‘s Amelia Eve. Shaye has been a staple of the franchise as psychic Elise Rainier, having appeared in or led all five movies. Eve can be seen right now in the Peacock series Leopard Skin opposite Carla Gugino.
Plot details are under wraps, which isn’t a surprise. Chase is directing from a script he co-wrote with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, writer of three movies in The Conjuring universe. Previously, Chase directed the Gillian Jacobs horror film Come Play.
Opening on August 21st 2026, Insidious 6 follows the box office success of Insidious: The Red Door, which earned a franchise high of $189M in 2023. That film was directed by series star Patrick Wilson, also of The Conjuring.
