‘High Side’: Timothée Chalamet And James Mangold To Reunite For Motocross Heist Film

Following the $140M box office and eight Academy Award nominations for Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, any reunion of Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold is going to get a lot of attention. Deadline reports Hollywood is “abuzz” over High Side, a new project based on an unpublished short story by Jaime Oliveira that could bring them back together.

High Side follows Billy, a former MotoGP racer whose career was destroyed by a crash and a troubling family legacy. Now running the family garage and caring for his addict father, Billy is recruited by his estranged brother Cole into a series of high-risk bank using superbikes. The FBI is hot on their trail as they hit desert town banks with the biggest score timed to a major motorcycle parade.

Chalamet is currently shooting Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3, and has Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme opening later this year. He has an opening after that, so it could be where High Side slots in if a deal is struck quickly enough.

As for Mangold, he’s always got a ton of projects on his slate including DC’s Swamp Thing, a Star Wars movie at Lucasfilm, a secret project at Netflix, and more.
