‘Kung Fury 2’ Sizzle Reel Features A Mulleted Michael Fassbender And Cigar-Chomping Arnold Schwarzenegger In Shelved Comedy

Released in 2015, Kung Fury was the insane genre-bending concoction of filmmaker David Sandberg. He crowd-source the kind of film that he and many of us grew up on, insanely over-the-top and combining wild comedy and violence, dinosaurs, Adolf Hitler, Vikings, time travel, and so much more. A sequel has been tough sledding, though. Kung Fury 2 wrapped shooting in 2019 and has been in legal limbo ever since. Over the weekend, a ten-minute sizzle reel leaked to the Internet and was quickly taken down. But today, that teaser is here in all of its glory and Kung Fury 2 looks amazing.

“If a city overrun with crime, in a time ruled by chaos, the world’s number one rock band is also the world’s greatest crime fighting team. They are: the Thundercops.”

So begins this incredible Kung Fury 2 footage, which stars Sandberg as Kung Fury, who comes out of hiding along with the rest of his dinosaur pals following the death of a fellow Thunder Cop. We see them punching right through enemy heads, to show off the film’s gore. We also see Jorma Taccone as Adolf Hitler aka Kung Führer, plus Arnold Schwarzenegger as The President, with roles for Alexandra Shipp, David Hasselhoff, and more.

But the highlight is Michael Fassbender, sporting a mullet worth dying for, as FBI agent Colt Magnum, who joins the team to help clean up Miami streets in 1985.

Unfortunately, Kung Fury 2‘s legal woes don’t seem to be going anywhere, as detailed by Variety in this report, stating that “little movement” has been seen on the project since 2020.

So what was all of this for then? Obviously, to get fans so riled up an eager for this movie that they start causing a stink online. If some distributor catches wind that they can make money from Kung Fury 2, they’ll find a way to get it out there.
