‘Jack Of Spades’: Josh O’Connor Joins New Film By Joel Coen

Josh O’Connor’s name has been getting mentioned a lot lately, and it’s because the English actor has a ton going on at the moment. Not only was he at Cannes with two movies, Kelly Reichardt’s The Mastermind, and The History of Sound alongside Paul Mescal, but he’s continued to add more upcoming projects. Deadline reports O’Connor will star in Jack of Spades, Joel Coen’s next film.

Plot details for Jack of Spades remain under wraps, but there are reportedly offers out to two British actresses to join O’Connor. Coen’s plan is to shoot this summer in Scotland.

This will be Coen’s first feature since The Tragedy of Macbeth in 2021, his first as a solo director after many years working with his brother, Ethan. The Coen Brothers are set to reunite on a new project soon.

Coming up for O’Connor is Steven Spielberg’s mysterious UFO project. He also has Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and the Sundance drama Rebuilding. O’Connor also confirmed he had departed Luca Guadagnino’s film Separate Rooms.
