- Final Destination Bloodlines (review)- $51M
Death came back stronger than ever. After fourteen years off, Final Destination Bloodlines revived the horror franchise with $51M domestic and $102M globally. Surprisingly, these movies have always fared better overseas than here at home, so seeing these equivalent numbers is a good sign. The film, the last to feature horror icon Tony Todd, was reviewed well by critics at 93% on RT, the best rating of the series by far.

6. Hurry Up Tomorrow (review)- $3.3M
Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye’s art house thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow couldn’t hold a tune, opening with just $3.3M. The film, another attempt by Tesfaye to establish himself as an actor, also stars Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, but none of them could lure in audiences, largely based on poor word of mouth. Currently, it sits at just 13% from critics on RT, while audiences were a bit more favorable at 70%.
7. Friendship (review)- $1.4M/$2M
After a phenomenal per site average for its debut last week, A24’s cringe comedy Friendship expanded to 60 theaters and leaped into the top 10 with $1.4M. The Paul Rudd/Tim Robinson film about a lonely suburban husband who goes pretty dark to befriend his neighbor, has an 89% from critics on RT and should continue to perform well next as it expands further.
8. Clown In a Cornfield– $1.3M/$6.3M
9. Until Dawn– $800K/$19.6M
10. The Amateur– $712K/$40.1M
