With SXSW right around the corner, A24 is dropping a new trailer for one of its most anticipated films, the horror-comedy Death Of a Unicorn. Starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, it centers on a father and daughter who accidentally run over one of the mythical beasts, setting off a chaotic, and hilarious, chain of events.
The film marks the debut from writer/director Alex Scharfman, a well-known Hollywood producer. Also in the cast are Richard E. Grant, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Steve Park.
In what looks to be a standout supporting role, Grant plays Rudd’s billionaire boss who wants to cash-in on the creature’s death. As the funny tagline says, “Payback is a beast.”
SYNOPSIS: A father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenna Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Richard E. Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.
A24 will release Death Of a Unicorn in theaters on March 28th.
