‘The Legend Of Ochi’ Trailer: Willem Dafoe And Helena Zengel Star In A24’s Woodland Fantasy Adventure

A24 isn’t the first company that pops to mind when it comes to children’s movies, but we do think of them as having a finger on the pulse of what’s hot. And right now that would be DIY.org founder Isaiah Saxon, known for creative, visually short films and stunning music videos for Bjork and hip-hop group Zion I. So it’s no shock that A24 has backed Saxon’s feature-length directorial debut, The Legend of Ochi, a whimsical fairy tale arriving next year.

Starring Willem Dafoe, Finn Wolfhard, Emily Watson, and News of the World actress Helena Zengel, The Legend of Ochi follows a young girl who befriends a lost woodland creature and sets out to reunite it with its family.

The film is produced by the Russo Brothers through their AGBO label. Saxon not only directed the film but wrote the screenplay, as well.

SYNOPSIS: In a remote northern village, a young girl, Yuri, is raised to never go outside after dark and to fear the reclusive forest creatures known as the ochi. When a baby ochi is left behind by its pack, she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to reunite it with its family.

The Legend of Ochi hits theaters on February 8th 2025.
