‘Heart Eyes’ Red Band Trailer: Valentine’s Day Turns Deadly In New Slasher From ‘Scare Me’ Director Josh Ruben

The great thing about horror is that it pairs perfectly with pretty much every holiday. Halloween is an easy one, and obviously so are Thanksgiving and Christmas. But looking forward to earlier in the year, Valentine’s Day is the next best holiday for slasher flicks because, well…what do they say? “It’s a thin line between love and hate” and all that. And that brings us to the new red band trailer for Sony’s upcoming slasher film, Heart Eyes.

So there’s a lot to like here. First of all, Heart Eyes looks like an updated version of My Bloody Valentine and its surprisingly decent remake from 2009. Behind the camera is Josh Ruben, known for the popular horror comedies Scare Me and Werewolves Within. The film has a script co-written by Christopher Landon, a genre favorite for the Happy Death Day and Paranormal Activity franchises. Finally, the cast is full of horror veterans including Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Jordana Brewster (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), Olivia Holt (Totally Killer), and Mason Gooding (Scream).

Also in the cast are Gigi Zumbado (Bride Hard) and Michaela Watkins (Werewolves Within).

SYNOPSIS: For the past several years, the “Heart Eyes Killer” has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe…

Sony opens Heart Eyes in theaters on February 7th 2025.
