‘Heretic’ Trailer: Hugh Grant Traps A Pair Of Missionaries In Horror Film From ‘A Quiet Place’ Writers

John Krasinski is unquestionably the guy steering the A Quiet Place franchise, but it didn’t start out that way. While he directed the first two movies, that world and its characters were created by the duo of Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who have been working together for more than twenty years. Their careers have really taken off, and they’ve used that to direct bigger films including the prehistoric sci-fi film 65. And next up for them is the A24 psychological thriller, Heretic, led by Hugh Grant.

That’s right, a Hugh Grant horror flick from the guys behind A Quiet Place. The film follows a pair of Mormon missionaries who get more than they bargained for when they attempt to convert a man who is more dangerous than they could’ve known.

Grant is joined in the cast by The Fabelmans actress Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher, who is known for her roles in Yellowjackets and The Book of Boba Fett.

We’re so used to Grant making us laugh that it’s especially disturbing to see him here as someone we’d never want to be alone anywhere with. It might be hard to look at him the same way again.

Heretic opens in theaters on November 15th.
