‘Crime 101’: Mark Ruffalo In Talks To Reunite With Chris Hemsworth On Don Winslow Crime Thriller

It’s about to be an Avengers reunion between Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, far away from Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline reports Ruffalo is in talks to join Hemsworth in Crime 101, an adaptation of Don Winslow’s short story acquired by Amazon MGM recently.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the Heat-esque story follows a detective tracking down a series of high-level jewel heists that he believes were committed by one criminal, while the police target the Colombian cartels.

Pedro Pascal was attached to the project last year, but is no longer involved. It’s unclear if Ruffalo is taking on the same role, but it seems that way. The film has American Animals director Bart Layton at the helm, and Avatar: The Way of Water‘s Shane Salerno as a producer. Layton also co-wrote the script with Peter Straughan.

Ruffalo will be seen next in Mickey 17 opposite Robert Pattinson. He recently earned his fourth Oscar nomination for his performance in Poor Things. Obviously, he and Hemsworth have worked together multiple times on various Marvel projects, most recently in Thor: Ragnarok.  Ruffalo took over as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk, with Hemsworth as the god of thunder, Thor.
