‘Lanterns’: Damon Lindelof, Tom King Recruited To Help Develop James Gunn’s Green Lantern Series

With Superman and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow well on their way, other projects in James Gunn’s DCU are starting to take shape. One of those is the series, Lanterns, which is obviously about the Green Lantern Corps. Many attempts to get a GL show off the ground have been attempted, but this is Gunn’s show now (the Gunn Show?) and he’s got a superstar writer’s room helping to put it together.

Gunn revealed on IG that Damon Lindelof, Tom King, and Chris Munday are helping craft the Lanterns series.

“Yes, it’s true. The Lanterns DCU series is putting together a crack team of writers, based on a wonderful pilot script and bible by Chris Mundy, Tom King, and Damon Lindelof.”

Mundy is probably the least known of them all, but he was showrunner on Netflix’s award-winning series Ozark, as well as a writer/exec-producer on HBO’s True Detective: Night Country.

King is one of the top comic book writers at DC Comics, and was set to work with Ava DuVernay on a New Gods movie before it got shelved.

Lindelof probably needs no introduction. The creator of Watchmen, The Leftovers, and Lost is someone who just knows how to develop hit TV shows and having him aboard Lanterns is a real coup.
