‘Plane’ Sequel Titled ‘Ship’ Is On The Way With Mike Colter Returning

If you just couldn’t get enough of the Gerard Butler flick Plane and wanted to see the action taken to another environment, well, you got your wish. A sequel titled Ship is in the works and it will find Mike Colter making the leap from air to sea. Not that Plane spent that much time in the air, mind you.

Colter will reprise his role as accused murderer with a heart of gold, former French Legionnaire Louis Gaspare. When the titular flight crashed in the original film, Gaspare was released from extradition to Canada. Much of the story’s mystery surrounded whether Butler’s pilot Captain Brodie Torrance could trust Gaspare.

Ship finds Gaspare hopping aboard a cargo ship in East Asia only to learn the vessel is being used for human trafficking. He must join with the second mate to take down the ship’s corrupt captain and save the innocent passengers.

No word on who will write or direct the film yet, but this sounds like a gig that will be easy to fill. [THR]
