‘Renfield’ Trailer: Nicholas Hoult Is Trying To Escape A Toxic Relationship With Nicolas Cage’s Dracula

Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula. SOLD!!!

Seriously, the potential in Cage vamping it up as the ultimate vamp is one reason why Renfield is among the most anticipated movies of the year. The premise is pretty far-out, too, with Nicolas Hoult featuring as the titular devotee and fanatic, who does terrible things all for the promise of immortality. With Awkwafina as the love interest, Ben Schwartz as a mobster, and Shohreh Aghdashloo as a mob boss, has this could be the funniest Dracula has been in ages.

The film is directed by Chris McKay, best known for The Tomorrow War and The Lego Batman Movie. With a script by Ryan Ridley and a story conceived by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman,  they’re exploring the comical side of Renfield’s highly-toxic relationship with Dracula. Cue up the bug-eating, super-powered fights and support group meetings!

Renfield opens in theaters on April 14th.
