‘The Gorge’: Miles Teller To Star In “High-Action” Event Film From ‘Black Phone’ Director Scott Derrickson

It’s been a very busy year for Miles Teller. He’s been tough to avoid with films including Netflix’s Spiderhead, Paramount’s The Godfather series The Offer, and a little thing you might’ve heard of called Top Gun: Maverick, which has made $1.4B at the box office. So how do you follow something like that up? By teaming with Skydance and the director of Doctor Strange for another potential blockbuster.

Deadline reports Teller will team with director Scott Derrickson for The Gorge, an event flick described as “a high-action, genre-bending love story.” No plot details are available, but we know it’ll have a screenplay by Zach Dean, writer of The Tomorrow War.

This is quite a lot of talent in the middle of a hot streak. Derrickson, who followed-up the aforementioned Marvel flick with horror film The Black Phone, which earned a whopping $150M on a $25M budget.

A big deal package like this won’t stay so secretive for long. Expect more info on it to be revealed soon.
