‘Both Sides Of The Blade’ Trailer: Juliette Binoche And Vincent Lindon Star In Claire Denis’ Love Triangle Drama

Hard to believe that four years have already passed since Claire Denis’ previous film, the divisive Robert Pattinson sci-fi drama High Life (well, it was hotly debated here anyway). That time hasn’t gone to waste, as Denis is back now with Both Sides of the Blade, a French romance led by the always-great Juliette Binoche and Titane star Vincent Lindon.

Without giving too much away, the story finds a woman torn between her husband and an estranged ex, who happens to be former friends with her spouse. Seeing her former boyfriend again floods her with emotions, threatening to tear her marriage apart.

This is hardly the first time Denis has worked with Binoche or Lindon, as they have been frequent collaborators in the past. Never altogether, though, and considering how skillful all three are at passionate thrillers this one should be good. Denis took home the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival, so yeah, it’s one to look out for.

Both Sides of the Blade hits theaters on July 8th.
