‘The Gray Man’ Trailer: Ryan Gosling Is Hunted By Chris Evans In Netflix’s $200M Spy Film

How do you top the billion-dollar success of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame? If you’re directors Joe & Anthony Russo, you start your own production company, secure an exclusive deal with Netflix, then put together an all-star cast on a $200M budget with The Gray Man. If this were a wide theatrical release it would be one of the biggest movies of the year, but instead you’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of the couch.

Starring Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, and Ana de Armas, the story follows ex-CIA mercenary Court Gentry (Gosling), who after revealing the agency’s darkest secrets becomes the target of a manhunt led by his psychopathic colleague, Lloyd Hansen (Evans).

The screenplay is by Joe Russo, joined by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who they’ve been working with since Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Speaking of which, The Gray Man seems to be treading on similar ground; high-level espionage and conspiracy thriller with a ton of action.

Also starring Jessica Henwick, Billy Bob Thornton, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Alfre Woodard, Julia Butters, and Dhanush, The Gray Man hits theaters on July 15th, followed by Netflix a week later.
