‘Supergirl’ Will End On The CW After Season 6

Maybe being away from the Arrowverse for a few seasons has left me in the dark, but this has come as a surprise. According to THR, Supergirl will be hanging up her cape after seasons six seasons, most of which were spent on The CW.

The final season of 20 episodes begins shooting this month in Vancouver, with a plan for them to air next year. This seems to be a decision mapped out by The CW and producer Greg Berlanti, giving them a chance to end the series as they see fit.

Star Melissa Benoist had this to say about the news…

Perhaps this was motivated by the arrival of another series centered on a famous Kryptonian, Superman & Lois, which features Tyler Hoechlin reprising his role as the Man of Steel. With Arrowverse having ended its run last year, things are definitely shifting in the Arrowverse. That said, there are still a ton of superhero shows left including Black Lightning, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Stargirl.

I’m very curious to know how Kara  will be written out of the Arrowverse, as she had become a centerpiece of the entire universe.
